The Early Years

Tony was born in Wordsley in the West Midlands and started playing at the age of 10 on a Bontempi organ from Woolworths. By the age of 12 he was performimg in public. From the age of 14 he was the resident organist at the local Pensnett and Bromley Labour club. Tony played at this club each weekend for several years backing various artistes. He turned professional at the age of 17.

Tony's first professional years were very hectic, traveling all over the country and abroad doing numerous summer seasons for Butlins , Pontins and Warners. He performed at various venues ranging from Scotland to Cornwall, Germany to Gibraltar.

Performance Highlights

Tony's skills and musical talent enabled him to take on the role of Musical Director in many theatre`s, where he directed pantomime and shows in many well-known top theatre`s. He has had the pleasure to work with many famous stars of that time, touring with Frank Carson, Mike Reid, Bernie Clifton, Jack Wild, Don McLean, to name but a few. He has also performed on Radio 2`s "Friday Night Is Music Night".

Present Day

Tony is now based in the West Midlands and performs for ballroom / sequence dances, concerts, and private functions for those special occasions.

In addition Tony is a talented music teacher and provides lessons for organ, keyboard and piano on a private basis and has been doing so for over 30 years, entering many of his pupils for examinations.

Although he has played many organ`s in the past from Hammond, Lowrey, Technics, Wurlitzer to Yamaha. At present he has the Korg Pax4, with Korg XD5 and Ketron Bass pedals and Bose Speakers

Tony has a very modern orchestrated sound.

SERVICES

Tuition

Tony has been teaching since he was 16 years of age. Over time he has taught over 100 students ranging from age 6 to 86.

He has also taught in a music school and college, but now mainly teaches privately on a one to one basis either at his home or at his pupil’s home. Adult students tend to play for pleasure however younger pupils often want to develop a career and take examination`s should they wish to do so.

Tony teaches organ, keyboard and piano; all three are played slightly differently. He also teaches Music theory and many of his students have attained high grades from the University of West London (LCM) and the ABRSM. It is always fun and tailored to suit the individual. Tony can also help you to get to know your own instrument as he has played many makes and models of organ and keyboard.

Care Homes

Tony provides entertainment for many local retirement and residential homes. He normally has a one hour show but can do more if required. He plays a wide variety of music that is especially suited to the occasion, whether it's a stroll down memory lane, Christmas, Easter, residents birthday, garden party or a normal visit.

Music has been proven to be extremely stimulating and therapeutic, enabling all ages to participate during his performance from singing along, tapping their feet and dancing.

Although song sheets can be provided if required, most people find they can remember the words.
